FAQ'S
What is the meaning of your skin’s Ph
balance?
Ph balance
simply means that an acid mantle protects your skin and hair. Since
most soaps are alkaline, they temporarily destroy your acid mantle.
Maria Garcia cleansers
and toners are properly
Ph balanced.
What is the purpose of a toner or a freshener?
A toner
or a freshener removes the excess cleanser that was not rinsed off your
face as well as minimizing the appearance of pores. Toners
are also capable of calming and hydrating the skin.
Exfoliation – Does my skin really need all this hype?
Yes! Exfoliation
simply means getting rid of dead skin. Your skin is constantly sloughing
off dead skin cells. As you age, removing the top layers of these cells
encourages the cells underneath to reproduce more rapidly. If your skin
is particularly dry or sensitive, treat it gently at first and only
once a week. As your skin becomes accustomed to it, increase your treatment.
Oily or acne prone skin benefits greatly from the use of manual exfoliations
several times per week. You can aid in the exfoliating process by using
our Peeling Scrub
to speed cell renewal and exfoliation of dead skin cells.
Why should you use a moisturizer if you have oily skin?
Moisturizers
are not supposed to add moisture to the skin but rather to protect your
skin’s natural moisture from evaporating. For oily skin types,
hydration is vital to help balance the skin. Our Vitality
Firming Gel is the ideal product for any skin type under
a moisturizer, but is exceptional alone for oily/problematic and/or
sensitive skin.
How can you prevent waking up with puffy eyes?
Do not
use a moisturizer around your eyes as it is far too heavy for the delicate
skin around your eyes. An eye cream or the Maria Garcia
3-in-1 Rejuvenating Cream or the Vitality
Firming Gel are highly recommended for the eye area. When
applying eye cream, you should only apply it with the cushion of your
ring finger, as this is your weakest finger. Vitality Firming Gel may
be applied over the entire eye area with the 3-in-1 Cream reaching to
the (eye area bone).
What is the difference between an Exfoliator and a Mask?
Our Peeling
Scrub exfoliates by removing layers of dead skin cells;
whereas, Masks help draw out impurities, and/or add intense hydration
to the skin. Our Purifying
and Pick Me Up Mask
make the skin look tighter and give your skin a radiant glow.
What is the difference between a SPF Moisturizer and a night
cream?
A moisurizer
such as our Light
Hydration SPF15 or Power
Hydration SPF15 are formulated with anti-oxidants, soothers
and anti-irritants. Protect your skin from harmful effects of the sun,
pollutants and toxins. Night time creams such as our 3-in-1
